2nd Marking Period :P

#11 Photoshop Flyer

I made a Photo-filled font, in which typed "Music Club", then I placed a photo that you could see through the font. Then I placed other photos around the canvas. With the making of the background, I used the Gradient Tool to create the rainbow background. I added the other information about the event in other fonts I learned to make and use in previous assignments.

#12  Texture with Layer Mode

The texture added was done with Adobe Photoshop. I made a copy of the suit with the Magnetic Lasso Tool, I placed the texture over the copied suit and used the clipping mask effect, so it would show only over the suit. I then changed the opacity and added "Color Dodge" so it can have a more realistic effect.

#13 Mimicking the Change One Thing Poster

I first created a solid background color with the color bucket. To create the new food I was going to use for my poster, I went out into the web and found a picture of peppermint candies and pictures of watermelon to use. I used the magnetic lasso tool to cut out the candies and placed the watermelons in their place. The purpose of this poster was to show their are other alternatives, such as watermelon, that can satisfy cravings for sweets and is also healthy. The NYC FOOD BANK Logo was used solely for educational purpose. No Copy Right infringement was intended.

#14a Flag Displacement

The painted effect I created with displacement map would be of the Ecuadorian flag and it was placed over a brick wall. I placed them on the same canvas and I changed the flag layer's blending mode to hard light, made a copy of the layer and I desturated it. I then blurred the copied layer with 1px, saved the layer, and distorted the layer by taggling with the horizontal and vertical scale. I then opened the layer I saved earlier, and selected Brick layer copy, changed it's blending mode to hard light, and then set it's opacity to 80% to give it a more realistic effect.

#14b Flag Face

The painted effect I created with displacement map would be of the Ecuadorian flag and it was placed over a "selfie" of my face. I placed them on the same canvas and I changed the flag layer's blending mode to hard light, made a copy of the layer and I desturated it. I then blurred the copied layer with 1px, saved the layer, and distorted the layer by taggling with the horizontal and vertical scale. I then opened the layer I saved earlier, and selected "selfie" layer copy, changed it's blending mode to hard light, and then set it's opacity to 80% to give it a more realistic effect. Now that I have finished, I used the smudge out anything on the flag layer that is on my face, making the paint look more messy to give it a realistic effect.

#15 Smart Filtering with Motion Blur

I found a photo on the web of a train and I opened it on Photoshop as a Smart Object so I could add smart filters to the image. I chose the filter blur and adjusted the angle and the distance of the pixels in the motion blur in order to blur the whole picture. I then used the Brush Tool (Soft Edge Brush)- with the foreground color black- over the train itself so the train would no longer blurred.

#16 Quick Masking

I used a Quick mask and made a selection to my eyes in the photo "selfie." I activated the Quick Masking mode and set the Master Diameter Slider to my specifications in order to paint over the eyes so I can edit them. I then chosed the Brush tool (Round) to paint over the image where I want the editing to happen. Once I had finished with that, I selected Inverse so now the selection only includes the area I painted with Quick Mask mode. Now then I could edit the color of the eyes and adjust the opacity for a more realistic effect.

#17 Soft Filtering Skin Tones

I found this photo of a model and opened it in photoshop, duplicated the photo, and then converted the copied photo to Smart Filters. I used Gaussian Blur to blur the image to my specifications and changed the Layer mode to Screen. I changed the opacity field to 40%, and I would then add a layer mask and open the Brush tool (Soft-edge) with the Airbrush thumbnail mode on and paint over the important features of the feature to make them stand out. I would then toggle with the Layer Opacity Slider to get the amount of glow I want. The Soft Focus is applied to the overall photo while keeping the main features of the model in sharp focus.

#18 USB Drive

Using only shapes and gradients, I created this USB drive. By creating different dimensions of shapes, I created the shape of the USB drive. By using specific gradients with different colors and shapes, it gave the actual look of a USB Drive that does not appear flat. The location and opacity values for the gradients is a key factor to making the USB Drive seem realistic because it gives the shapes a certain color, lighting, and angle reflecting the light (using white) to give the USB Drive a shine as if it's being held up to the light. Also by adding Stroke to certain shapes, it makes those shapes stand out, and along with Offset Path, it helps to show the surface difference of parts of the USB Drive. I also used Arc to distort a shape, a Pen tool to create shapes, and the Text tool to add what is written on the USB Drive.

#19 Last Name in Illustrator

I used Adobe Illustrator to create my names with lines. I also added different shapes to fill in the empty space.
#19b

I used Adobe Illustrator to practice creating a part on my phone using the Path Finder, Divide, and Minus Front tool.

#20 Wireless Phone

Using adobe illustrator, I created a wireless phone. (Day 1) I created the body of the phone using the Rounded Corner and Gradient Sliders. (Day 2) I created a glass on the screen of the phone that reflects the light using the Minus Front tool to isolate the glare. (Day 3) I created a shape and used Path Finder, Divide, and the Minus Front tool to create control buttons for my phone. (Day 4) I created a number key pad using Round Corner tool along with Offset Path to create layers to create a 3D representation of a button and I copied and pasted to create additional buttons. (Day 5) I added speakers and a microphone piece to the phone by using the Mesh tool to make it seem more realistic.
